Public domain tests on the web...

Great news!  The NIH has just released a large toolbox of public domain cognitive tests for people ages 3-85.  The royalty-free assessments were made by 250 scientists at 80 institutions: http://www.nihtoolbox.org

About Us

We're a group of neuropsychologists, neurologists, researchers, clinicians, and social entrepreneurs who believe that simple, high-quality cognitive tests should be available free of charge in order to allow organizations to measure the effectiveness of their programs.  We are compiling a list of the best free cognitive tests we find as a resource for the scientific, research, and healthcare communities. Enjoy!

We need your help...

We are currently piloting a new digit span test and word recognition test and are looking for organizations and associations that would like to use these tests.  Major research universities have offered to validate these tests for us.  Before we submit them for validation we are conducting preliminary research to finalize the designs.  If you would like to use these two memory tests in your organization, please contact us.

Why are we providing free cognitive tests?

We dream of changing the world for the better by providing high quality cognitive tests for free, decreasing the cost of testing and research, and if many researchers use the tests, meta-analysis will be easier since more studies will be using the same measurement tools. We also believe that non-research organizations such as retirement communities and educational programs should have an easy way to track whether their programs are effective.

What's the catch?

There's no catch- it really is free.  We're providing this web page as a community service.  The only thing we ask is that people who use our tests should include the following credit line so that others can easily find the same tests:

"This test was made available by FreeCognitiveTests.com"
